As darkness fell, the front moved in bringing heavy downpours and limited visibility. We wrapped with plastic and tape our twin helm stations and Harken foot pedals as we had recently discovered water ingress into our stern bulkhead panelling during severe conditions. The rising wind was in the SW but we felt secure and protected on our mooring buoy and had a restful nights sleep. Upon waking we discovered we had isolated our bulkhead leak which was great news but we had no visibility, wrapped in an envelope of fog, mist and drizzle.

On hotspotting from Charlie’s phone Jeanie picked up her birthday messages from New Zealand, 16 hours ahead, most importantly from Ben and Kate, her wonderful Sisterhood as well as other beautiful long time girlfriends and some newly formed friendships.
Here are a couple of birthday messages to share -
May your boat be leak free.
May your sails be in good repair.
May the winds be fair, the weather kind and
May your days be filled with the exquisite
Pleasure of new adventures, fabulous
Destinations and excellent friendship!
Celebrating in style half a world away! My fabulous Sisterhood girlfriends plus Carina in Australia
Meanwhile after a leisurely breakfast and numerous cups of tea while chilling out in the cockpit, the fog lifted a little and in between Charlie’s Friday meetings we enjoyed the melody of the church bells ringing (wondered whether there was a wedding taking place) as well as the delightful colours peeking through the watery sunshine of pinks, reds, every shade of blue, yellow and purple of the hillside houses looking out to the harbour.
But the weather deteriorated again and going ashore in the dinghy just didn’t seem inviting so Jeanie, in between her reading, decided to be a domestic goddess and took to the galley to produce a tray of pumpkin and ginger muffins and a stir fry for dinner.
A wonderful birthday for a wonderful sister 🤩🌺🌸
