Meet the Crew

Captain Charlie (or Skipper Charlie as we would say in NZ)

A long time dinghy boat sailor, Charlie has a wealth of knowledge and experience in sailing both monohulls and multihulls.  With over 12,000nm of open ocean under his belt, Charlie has sailed around Cape Horn not once but twice including sailing "The Drake" to Antarctica plus the Beagle Channel to Cape Town and is now ready for more blue water cruising.

Jeanie

From New Zealand, Jeanie met Charlie 16 months ago and has been sailing with him on the Chesapeake Bay ever since. An opportunity a couple of years ago to circumnavigate NZ on the good ship Mimu hooked Jeanie back sailing.  She previously sailed for many years with her young children Ben and Kate, loves blue water cruising and has sailed a very respectable 25,000 open ocean miles including 5 Atlantic crossings.

Tami

What can Tami not do?  She is a project manager, pilot, PADI dive instructor, owns her own yacht, an accomplished photographer, world traveller, 161 countries to date ... and the list goes on! Tami has sailed as far south as Venezuela and north to Nova Scotia through multiple sea ventures totalling 15,000nm.  She is a Florida flower and has taken a seabbatical with a leave of absence to join Paradigm on this adventure.

Geoff

Geoff is a retired project manager, proud Grandfather of Rhys and Poppy and an enthusiastic sailor with one open ocean Caribbean trip under his belt.  He volunteers on a Chesapeake Bay SkipJack and has done some amazing humanitarian volunteer work recently in Poland and with the rebuild in Florida after their recent hurricane. Geoff not only cooks and cleans up, he is simply wonderful company.  We will look after him Chris!!

Bruce

Bruce grew up on Gibson Island and cruised on a J24 with his then girlfriend, now wife Elizabeth!  She must have been in love!!  He is a successful CEO and business man.  Bruce recently, with 2 partners, purchased an IOD (International One Design) boat with the aim to acquire 5 to have a fleet of IOD's racing from Gibson Island.  We are stopping off at Nantucket for Bruce to race.  He has sailed Paradigm on many previous trips.

Doug

Hailing from Texas, Doug owns a beautiful classic Hinckley 48, docked at Gibson Island.  He has spent his whole life sailing, mainly onboard Fiesta and has completed multiple voyages from America to the Bahamas, Gulf of Mexico, Maine and of course sailing the Chesapeake Bay.  His gorgeous wife Sarah has him well trained in the galley and Sarah has helped by cooking us yummy soups ready to defrost at sea.  Thank you Sarah and we hope to see you up north.
