Martha's Vineyard

Martha’s Vineyard: After a 7-hour sail, the crew dropped anchor in Vineyard Haven Harbor, Martha’s Vineyard, Maryland. Over a glass of dry red wine (beer for Geoff!) with cheese, crackers and plantain chips, the team discussed the intermittent radar and autopilot issues—a return to Newport prior to going offshore inevitable. Captain Charlie began pursuing getting a new RADAR shipped to the Safe Harbor Boat Yard.

  Happy hour sailing style!

While munching on homemade tacos at sunset, the Paradigm crew watched teens on the youth sail training topsail schooner Shenandoah jump 20 feet into the water from her bow sprint and swim to the ladder. Built in Maine in 1964 and modeled after the 1850s ship Joe Lane, the crew of 9 takes up to 30 teens out on week long cruises of self discovery.

Another schooner from day's of old turned charter boat in the harbor.

Hulking car/people transport ferries ran through the anchorage almost hourly.
